Castello di Vincigliata
Wedding at Castello di Vincigliata
A dame known as Bianca, a true but impossible love, the lady’s ghost who hovers in the castle to protect the lovers of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Many legends surround Vincigliata Castle, but Donna Bianca’s story is perhaps the one that fascinates most the newlyweds who choose this charming medieval fort to become husband and wife.
Vincigliata is one of the most famous and exclusive Italian wedding venues indeed, thanks to the uniqueness of its intact walls and spiers, as well as the beauty of its gardens and courtyards.
Getting married in a castle
Surrounded by the Tuscan hills and located a few kilometers from Florence, the Castle offers a stunning panoramic view. This is an ideal venue for a dream destination wedding.
At the Castle, the ceremony can be set up to celebrate a religious rite, but not Catholic, or the symbolic one. Otherwise, Fiesole or Florence city halls can officiate the civil ceremony, while one of the many historic churches can be chosen for the Catholic rite.
A fairy-tale wedding reception
The garden surrounded by spiers is a popular place for the aperitif and the cake cutting moments, while the interior court – very romantic when lit by sophisticated decorations – is usually the favorite area to set up the reception.
The interior rooms – furnished with 16th century antiques and paintings – and the winter garden, represent an excellent plan B in case of bad weather or during the colder season.
This venue doesn’t offer accommodation. Anyway, we can help you and your guests to choose the best hotels or private villas, so to fully enjoy your holiday in Florence.
