Allison & Michael
Destination Wedding in Tuscany
Allison and Michael, Chinese-American natives of Northern Virginia and residents of New York, dreamed of a Destination wedding in Tuscany.
From our first meeting, they expressed their desire to create a celebration with an elegant and natural aesthetic that reflected the beauty and intimacy of their chosen venue, Borgo San Felice.
Intimate Wedding at Borgo San Felice
The history and atmosphere of Borgo San Felice captivated Allison and Michael from the first moment, as they are lovers of the stunning Tuscan nature.
Their choice of venue was closely tied to their dream of creating a very intimate atmosphere for themselves and their guests, ensuring everyone felt connected.
With 90% of the guests staying at the hotel, they had the unique opportunity to spend quality time together. This closeness made their wedding much more than just a day of celebration; it was a shared experience over an entire weekend.
Welcome Dinner in rustic tuscan style
The welcome dinner before the wedding featured live entertainment by The Happy Quartet. For the occasion, our team designed and set up two imperial tables that combined rustic charm with elegance, all under the beautiful pergola of Borgo San Felice. The result? A dinner with a typically Tuscan atmosphere.
Everything went smoothly until 30 minutes before the guests were seated when an unexpected rain shower hit—something no weather app had predicted! However, thanks to the flexibility of the couple regarding timings and the fantastic team of vendors, we managed to stick to the original plan for an outdoor dinner, drying everything off in less than 20 minutes.
Circular ceremony setup: the unexpected wow effect
The wedding ceremony took place in the historic square of Borgo San Felice. We arranged the seating in a circular layout around a stage, ensuring that every guest had a perfect view from every angle. This arrangement was inspired by the desire to create an intimate and inclusive environment: a true wow factor for everyone!
To make the ceremony stage and seating even more elegant, we adorned it with fresh, vibrant flowers in pastel green and white shades. For her bouquet, Allison chose burgundy calla lilies tied with sage green velvet, while the bridesmaids opted for white calla lilies.
New York club-style wedding reception
The wedding reception was set up in a tent, featuring some standout decorative elements to evoke the New York style of one of the couple’s favorite venues. Among the exclusive elements, we chose fringe chandeliers with multicolored LED lights, as well as stunning bar counters.
The party continued with live music performed by The Shakes, followed by a DJ set from one of the band members. The wedding cake was a classic Italian “millefoglie” topped with fresh fruit.
The emotion of exchanging vows
One of the most emotional moments of Allison and Michael’s wedding day was hearing each other’s vows for the first time. Michael’s words reflected his constant and enduring love, while Allison’s expressed the playful joy and depth that had brought them to this moment, through all the highs and lows. It felt as if time stood still, and in those heartfelt promises, they found a perfect reflection of their past, present, and future.
This emotional exchange set the tone for the rest of the celebration: a day filled with laughter, tears of joy, and a quiet awareness of having created something truly special.
Welcome gifts and personalized favors
The welcome bags for guests included personalized magnets inspired by Allison and Michael’s favorite TV show logos. Every detail spoke to their personalities, adding a touch of originality and making the wedding even more memorable for everyone present. For example, on the back of the ceremony booklet, there was a crossword puzzle designed both to test the guests’ knowledge of the couple and to provide some “self-entertainment” while waiting for the ceremony to begin.
As wedding favors, the couple chose to create something truly unique and personal: custom t-shirts and socks designed by Allison’s cousin. These gifts were not just mementos of the event but also a fun and affectionate way to leave guests with something meaningful that connected to their style and story as a couple.
