Surabhie & Niall
Indian wedding on Lake Maggiore
He is English, and she is Indian. After their civil English wedding in the UK, Surabhie & Niall chose Lake Maggiore for their Indian wedding in Italy. It was the perfect setting to celebrate with magical atmospheres and a postcard landscape.
Three days of cheers on Lake Maggiore
Surabhie and Niall, with their families and friends, cheered for three days with a beautiful Indian wedding on Lake Maggiore. Most of the rituals took place at the Grand Hotel Dino, a stunning terrace on the lake.
But the couple also chose other beautiful venues to welcome and entertain their guests on the occasion of the different rites of the Hindu tradition. Moreover, the whole event was cheerful and colorful, just as the newlyweds wanted and respected the customs of an Indian marriage. Obviously, seeing the spouses so radiant filled our hearts with joy!
Welcome party at Grand Hotel Dino
On the first day, Surabhie and Niall welcomed their guests to the garden of the Grand Hotel Dino. Everyone joined a welcome cocktail. The bride, beautiful in her Indian dress, had her hands painted by the traditional Mehendi ritual. That is the elegant decoration of the bride with henna tattoos.
Later, the couple and guests experienced a beautiful lake tour aboard a boat, which took them to the beach club La Palma. Later, the evening continued with the Sangeet, which means “sung together” in Sanskrit. It inaugurates the festivities, dinner, and DJ set with dances until night.
Holi Haldi: the Indian tradition in Italy
The wedding day saw Surabhie and Niall as protagonists of the traditional and colorful ceremony of the Holy Haldi. This Hindu rite represents a kind of blessing of the couple by family and friends, and it is a really suggestive moment but also a lot of fun.
Turmeric powder (haldi) is mixed with water and oil to create a paste to be applied on the face and bodies of the spouses. Afterward, the guests are also involved in the ritual, and everything turns yellow. At the end of the Holy haldi, everyone takes a blessing bath. Of course, Surabhie and Niall have dived into Lake Maggiore!
Hindu ceremony with a view of Lake Maggiore
For the Indian wedding of Surabhie and Niall, we worked in accordance with every Hindu ritual, as the spouses wished for their perfect day. The Baraat saw the groom arrive on horseback in the charming garden of the Iles des Borromees hotel, the venue chosen for the Hindu rite.
Moreover, the garden was decorated with care and elegance, and overlooking the lake there was the delicate Mandap, the flower Indian arch that welcomes the ceremony. The bride arrived by boat, and after the celebration, the newlyweds and guests returned to the Grand Hotel Dino to enjoy the gala dinner with a typically Italian menu. The wedding party lasted all night long.
