Happiness, colours and art: a vibrant italian wedding in Lucca

Francesca swept us away with her ebullience and likability, and – like any good artist – she transported us into her world of shades and tones, and asked us to help her create a wedding that represented both her and her husband Devis’ colourful personalities. She is Tuscan, he is from Romagna, and they sought for a scenic location that could host their 200 guests from all across the country.

Wedding in Villa Grabau

Their wedding had to be a festival of colours, rich in hues of happiness and authenticity. With Villa Grabau, it was love at first sight. Moreover, the fact that this venue could also host the celebration of their civil ceremony was the icing on the cake that led the couple to book this location without taking any other options into consideration.

We immediately started to work on the wedding’s design, focusing on a common thread based on paintings and bright colours, such as fuchsia, red, yellow and purple. The decorations were a key aspect for the couple, which carefully chose every detail: not just flower arrangements, but also the invitations, the dresses and the tableau, which was created using canvases painted by the bride together with handwriting by a calligraphist.

Wedding party til late night

Another important aspect was the couple’s love for animals. In fact, their dogs had a crucial role at the wedding ceremony: they were the ring bearers for the bride and groom! The pets stayed throughout the entire ceremony and reception, and were carefully taken care of by a dog sitter.

After the religious ceremony, the party continued in the lemon orchard, which was adequately set up for dinner with custom lighting installations. Finally, a wild party until late into the night concluded the celebrations.
